HELENA, Mont. – The Carroll College softball team has played half of its scheduled games to date. A rainstorm in Southern California canceled three of six games that were slated for the Saints at the So-Cal Classic and last weekend, the snow that blanketed the Helena Valley forced the postponement of four games against the University of British Columbia.
 
Despite the struggles, the Saints are 2-1 in Cascade Conference play (3-4 overall) and are showing signs of improvement as the continue to get more time outside.
 
This week, the Saints travel to Nampa, Idaho, to face the College of Idaho for a Cascade series. The Yotes are 5-10 overall and 3-3 in conference play.
 
Carroll won three of four games against C of I a season ago, and they would like to continue the winning ways Friday, and for the first time all season, the weather forecast for the weekend is great.
 
"We look forward to getting back on the field and continuing our grind through the Cascade Conference schedule, head coach Aaron Jackson said. "The weather has not been our friend and tomorrow looks to be a great day to play two. Our athletes are ready to get out and compete and look to win another series."
 
Carroll is led at the plate by freshman Anna ApRoberts. In 12 at bats, she is hitting .500.  Allison Bayer also has six hits on 15 at-bats for a .400 batting average.
 
Tess Eaton is 2-0 on the season and has a 0.54 ERA.
 
The Yotes are led by Martha Tooley who has a .340 batting average and has tallied 10 RBIs on the year. Colette Robert has three wins in the circle with a 3.02 ERA.
 
The games are scheduled for 2 p.m. and 4 p.m. Friday and 12 p.m. and 2 p.m. Saturday. Live stats will be available via the College of Idaho.
