HELENA, Mont. – Carroll College men's soccer fell to Northwest University 1-0 Friday in strong sustained winds at Nelson Stadium in Helena.
The Saints outshot the Eagles 14-8, but couldn't find the net.
After a scoreless first half, the Eagles got on the board in the 77th minute with a goal from Jordan Travis on a cross that deflected off of a Carroll player and into the net for the goal.
Carroll squandered chances in both halves, including a penalty kick opportunity in the second half, went off of the post.
The loss drops the Saints to a tie for seventh-place with three other teams. Carroll next faces Evergreen Saturday. The Geoducks are another team in the four-way tie with the Saints at seventh-place.
