HELENA, Mont. – Carroll College men's soccer fell to Evergreen State 3-1 Saturday at Nelson Stadium, all four goals came in the first half.
Carroll outshot Evergreen 22-8 and had the advantage in nearly every category except saves and the one that matters most, score.
The Geoducks built a 2-0 lead on back-to-back goals by Burris Killian one in the 10th min and one in the 13th.
Carroll cut the lead to 21 in the 23rd minute on a goal from
Jose Mena, his third in three games for the Saints on a through ball.
In the 43rd minute, Evergreen added to its advantage with a goal from Shina Aborowa to go up 3-1.
Carroll held the Geoducks to just three shots in the second half, but couldn't capitalize on the nine shots of their own.
The loss drops the Saints to 7-7 overall and 5-6 in conference with a pair of matches remaining on the schedule.
The Saints currently sit in a tie with the College of Idaho and Providence for the eighth and final spot in the conference tournament with 15 total points but must travel to face Oregon Tech and first-place Southern Oregon next week.
