PORTLAND - Nick Lowrimore scored a goal in the in the fifth minute of overtime to lift Carroll College to a 2-1 road win over Warner Pacific College late Saturday evening at Damazo Field in Portland.
The two teams battled to a through the first half without scoring. The Knight outshot Carroll 8-6 in the first half and earned four corner kicks to zero for the Saints. Carroll would step up the pressure in the second half.
After the breaks, Carroll outshot Warner 7-3 and the increased pressure finally paid off on a corner kick from that bounced around the box it was tipped from Isaac Brostrom and landed in front of
Isaac Bostrom who buried it from five yards out to put the Saints up 1-0.
In the waning moments of the game, Warner's Javier Sanchez received a cross in the box and buried the ball into the net to notch the game at 1-1 and sent it into overtime.
The overtime consisted of two stats, a foul by Warner Pacific and a goal by the Saints. With 5:18 seconds remaining in the first overtime,
Sam Malouf sent a pass across the box, to Lowrimore who finished from 10 yards out to give the Saints the golden goal and the win.
Carroll is now 3-3 in Cascade Conference play and 5-3 overall. The win also breaks up a three-game losing streak.
The Saints are now home for five consecutive home games, beginning with a ranked Rocky Mountain team Friday at Nelson Stadium.
