CALDWELL, Idaho – Isaac Bostrom scored a goal on a corner kick in the 15th minute and
Bernhardt Di Cino notched his second-consecutive shutout as the Saints earned a 1-0 road win over the College of Idaho.
The Saints put pressure early with three corner kicks and three shots before they finally got on the board with Bostrom's header goal off of the corner kick.
"It was a great goal and it was nice to get the goal early and set the tone," head coach
Doug Mello said. "We put a lot of pressure on them early and it paid off, then we settled back and withstood the attack."
The Yotes didn't get a shot until after the Carroll goal but both teams tallied seven shots in the first half.
In the second half, the Yotes put on the pressure. C of I outshot Carroll 7-5 after the break and earned four corner kicks to none for the Saints.
"It was a tough battle which we won in the mid field," Mello said. "Our defense bent but didn't break when C of I upped the pressure in the second half. I'm really happy with our effort."
The Saints have a travel day before returning to action Sunday against Rocky Mountain in Billings.
