OAKLAND, Calif. - The Carroll College women's soccer team outshot Mills College 45-0, including 26-0 in shots on goal en route to a 5-0 win Sunday afternoon in Oakland.
"We took care of business and shut them out," head coach David Thorvilson said. "After two tough losses against two very talented teams, and I think we responded well. Every player got on the field for us today and we were able to rest some of our starters. It was a great way to close out the trip."
The Saints got the scoring going with
Michaela Kueffler finding the net in the 13th minute.
Payton Netz scored her second goal in as many game when she scored on the assists from
Charly Clements to put the Saints up 2-0 at the half.
Carroll came out hot in the second half, scoring goals in the 55th minute by
Cassidy Walter and the 58th minute on an own goal by Mills.
The Saints closed the match out with a goal from Clements in the 88th minute for the 5-0 win.
Carroll returns home for three matches in a row starting Wednesday against the University of Calgary at 4 p.m. at Nelson Stadium.
