HELENA, Mont. – Carroll softball hosts Southern Oregon and Third-ranked Oregon Tech in doubleheaders for their first home games of the year on Saturday and Sunday.
Southern Oregon is 12-6 on the season and Carroll will be their first Cascade Conference games of the year.
The offense is led by Kelsey Randall who is currently hitting .415 in 18 games with nine RBIs. Kayleen Smith has also been an impact bat with a .351 average and 11 RBIs in all 18 games.
The Raiders' pitching staff features Victoria Mackey who is 6-0 on the season with a team leading 1.19 ERA in 47 innings of work.
Oregon Tech is 5-10 on the season after finishing fourth at the NAIA Softball World Series last season.
The Hustlin' Owls' offense is headed by Tara Moates and Cassidy Hoglund. Moates leads the team with a .469 average while hitting two home runs and driving in 10. Hoglund is currently at a .333 average with two home runs and a team leading 13 RBIs.
The ace of the pitching staff is Ali Graham who holds a 2.15 ERA and a 2-5 record with 39 innings pitched.
The Saints are 10-10 on the season with a 1-3 record in conference play.
The offense is led by
Tianna Harper and
Allison Bayer. Harper leads the team with a .405 average while hitting two home runs and 11 RBIs. Bayer has a .319 average with three home runs and 11 RBIs as well.
Pitcher
Megan Gipe is 2-5 on the season with a 3.85 ERA with 30 strike outs in 43 and two-thirds innings.
During the games on Sunday, Carroll softball will be honoring Shelby VanHemelryck and helping to raise money for her surgery. More information can found in the Team Shelby release on Carroll Athletics.
