HELENA, Mont. – The fifth-seeded Carroll College soccer team faces off against Southern Oregon Friday in the first round of Cascade Conference tournament in Springfield, Oregon.
The Saints are making their second-appearance in the tournament in as many seasons but will face a Southern Oregon team that defeated them 3-1 just two weeks ago in Helena.
The Raiders got two early goals that pit the Saints out of it but Carroll responded by outshooting the Raisers 9-3 in the second half.
Carlos Magana, the Raiders' leading goal scorer, had two goals and an assist in the match.
Carroll will need to find an offensive boost but the Saints should be well rested after many of the Saints' starters sat last weekend in matches against Walla Walla and Multnomah.
Isaac Bostrom ended the regular-season with seven goals and two assists and Berhardt Di Cino was stellar in goal after taking a year off of soccer in 2015.
The Saints will be without freshman
Eric Hollenbaugh who is out with an injury. He is the 10th full-time starter that will have missed multiple games this season with injuries.
Carroll and SOU are scheduled to kick off at 9 p.m. MDT from Springfield. Live stats are available via the
Cascade Conference Stretch Internet portal.
