HELENA, Mont. – The Carroll College softball team hosts the University of Great Falls in the final two home games of the inaugural season Friday and Saturday, beginning at 1 p.m. at Centennial Park.
 
The Saints (7-19) look to rebound off of three consecutive losses to the Argos (18-10) last week in the opening series of the two-team conference race. The Saints trail 2-1 in the nine-game series with UGF. The first three games of each of the three, four-game series count towards the conference series. The winner of the best of nine series earns place in the Cascade Conference tournament.
 
Head coach Aaron Jackson knows the importance of the final home series for the Saints.
 
"It will be nice to be back home. It has been a short home season but these games are very important," Jackson said. "We need to flip the results from last weekend, get back on top and get the end of the month with control of our own destiny."

The key for the Saints is to do the thing right that they have all season with exception of the final three games of last week's series.

"We have to get back to playing good defense," Jackson said. "It has been one of our strong points all season but it kind of let us down last weekend.  If we can get that back, combined with good batting averages and great pitching I think we'll have a great weekend."

Saturday is the last home game for Carroll and as a first year team the Saints have just one senior, transfer catcher/designated hitter Maddie Jones. Interestingly enough, she plays her last home games against her former team.

"As a first year program it is kind of a unique situation," Jackson said. "Maddie came to us as a transfer this is a big day for her Saturday, we're excited to honor her and her great career, including her one season here. "

The Saints take the field at 1 p.m. on both days, the second games is expected to take place at 3 p.m.
