It was far more interesting than it needed to be, but the Saints got the win. Playing its second game in as many days, the Carroll College men's soccer team turned in a 3-2 win Sunday over Trinity Lutheran at Nelson Stadium.
A physical contest, it was a much needed win for Carroll, which suffered another near-miss in a loss at the University of Great Falls on Saturday.
"I think the big thing today is simply that you've gotta look at it as with a young program, a win's a win," coach Doug Melo said. "We're excited, but if we're in this position again I don't think you'll see the mistakes that we made. Because we're a smart bunch of guys and we'll learn from it."
