WEST LAFAYETTE, Indiana – The Purdue Boilermakers jumped out to a 14-0 lead en route to a 90-49 win over Carroll College in an exhibition game at Mackey Arena Friday night.
Four Purdue players scored in double figures and the Boilermakers shot 53.3 percent from the floor.
Jake Hollifield and Nick Williams led the Saints with 10 points each and Williams had a team-high six rebounds.
It was a homecoming for Carroll head coach Carson Cunningham who played for Purdue for three seasons, including the 2000 team that played in the sweet sixteen.
"It was a great experience to play in Mackey Arena," Cunningham said. "We were hoping that the Polar Vortex might make them a little cold, and that we'd be hot. But alas Purdue shot well and their bigs are a lot to handle."
The Saints tallest players are 6-8 but the Boilermakers roster includes two players 7-0 and over.
The game was the first of a three-game Indiana swing which continues tomorrow at Purdue-North Central, an NAIA school.
