Meghan O'Connell began coaching in 2012-13 with the Carroll College women's soccer staff.

Before O'Connell joined the Carroll College coaching staff, she had an outstanding soccer career as a player for Carroll College. She started all four years for the Saints, finishing second all-time in goals, second all-time in points, and fifth all-time in assists. She is one of the all-time Carroll greats. O'Connell was a member of four consecutive Frontier Conference Championship teams, a two-time Frontier Conference Player of the Year recipient, a four-time 1st Team All-Conference selection and was also an All-American honoree. She graduated from Carroll with a B.S. in Health and Physical Education (K-12) and a Minor in Psychology.

As a coach, O'Connell has helped the Saints to 3 Cascade Conferences regular season championships (15', 16' and 18'), 2 Cascade Conference Tournament championships (15' and 16'), and 2 NAIA National Tournament appearances (15' and 16'). She currently holds her USSF National E and National D licenses.

O'Connell was also a head coach for three seasons for the Helena Youth Soccer Association as well as was the Interim Executive Director for the program in 2015.

O'Connell attended Flathead High School where she was a three-year Varsity starter for the soccer team, a three-time All-State first team selection, the 2007 Women's Gatorade Player of the Year for Montana, and a high school All-American selection. She also was a four-year starter for the varsity basketball team, a three-time all-conference selection, and a two-time all-state selection.

In her free time she likes spending time with family and friends, and being outdoors hiking and camping.

Carroll Connection
O'Connell Hall was completed in 1966 and is named after her late Great Grandfather, J. Eddy O'Connell, who was the Chairman of Carroll's Development Council and a very generous benefactor. He also donated funds to create the original concession stand in the P.E. Center. Her late Grandfather, James (Jim) O'Connell, served on the Carroll College Board of Trustees from 1981-1998, and was Chairman for 6 of those years. For his years of service and staunch support of Carroll, the college conferred its Business Appreciation Award on the James O'Connell family. As well as receiving an Honorary Doctorate in Humane Letters from Carroll in 1998, he and his wife, Murel, received the college's Borromeo Fellowship Award and the Insignis Award. During his tenure on the board, the O'Connell family members contributed significant gifts to the college's campaigns including the Fortin Science Center Campaign. Presently, the O'Connell family members contribute significantly to O'Connell Hall and also help support Carroll College Athletics.
