Biography
Senior Guard Sara Chalich will take a medical redshirt this season after an injury during preseason practice.
Chalich scored 146 points during the 2016-17 season and has 229 for her career. Last year, she shot 38.8 percent from the three-point line and hit 33 on the season. she also picked Academic All-conference honors last in 2016-18.
She was likely to be one of the first off of the bench for Carroll and was poised to provide significant leadership.
Sara was a four-time letter winner for Couer d' Alene High School. She earned All-League honors in 2014 and also lettered in volleyball, track, and cross country. Helped lead Couer d’ Alene to the 2014 State Championship. She brings a 3.8 GPA into the program.
"We are deeply saddened to lose Sara," Sayers said. "She worked really hard this summer and she came on at the end of last year. Not only will we miss her scoring ability, but we will also miss her defensively intensity and her leadership. She and Cassie will still be a huge part of what we do this year and we are counting on them to continue to help our team get better every day."
