Aaron Jackson

Aaron Jackson became the first head coach of Carroll College's softball team in 2015.

Jackson is now coming off of his seventh season has the head coach for the Saints. In 2021, the Saints were able to put together some very impressive wins in the Cascade Conference, which is arguably the toughest conference in all of NAIA softball. Carroll tallied wins over Southern Oregon, Oregon Tech, and College of Idaho in 2021 and those three teams finished first, second, and third respectively at the NAIA Softball World Series.

In 2016, the Saints moved their win total from 13 to 24 and earned the Cascade Conference East Division title. The Saints tallied the first winning season in the short history of the program and Tianna Sell was named to the Cascade First-Team and the NFCA All-Region Second-Team.

The 2015 season was the first in school history and Jackson immediately built a team that was competitive on the field. He coached the Saints to a 13-27 record during their first season in program history in 2015, including a win over eventual NAIA World Series team Concordia (Ore.).

Jackson who spent three seasons (2011-13) at Eastern Oregon returned to Helena to take the helm of the new program after it was announced in the spring of 2014. Jackson recruited from Helena and Montana to build most of the team, but he also used his connections to draw more recruits from states like Nevada, California, and Colorado.

During Jackson’s three years at Eastern Oregon, EOU had 10 players earn Cascade Collegiate Conference Academic All-Conference designations with a team GPA of 3.3. Additionally, the Mountaineers picked up seven NAIA top-25 victories and had five All-Conference award winners.

Jackson holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Montana in health and human performance and has completed his coursework for a master’s of science in sports, recreation and fitness management from MSU-Billings.
