As a senior at Lewis & Clark HS in Spokane, Isaiah led his team to the state tournament, earning All-Greater Spokane League Honors along the way. During his junior year he earned Second-Team All-GSL honors. He was also named team MVP for his junior and senior seasons.
 
"We're excited to add yet another valedictorian with a sweet jumper in Isaiah Hernandez," head coach Carson Cunningham said. "Isaiah's smooth stroke from deep belies his gritty game. It's a nice combo. And he likes to play D. He's excited to get started with a pre-med/health sciences major and to join us on the hardwood."
 
Isaiah was named the Spokane Shining Star Athlete in March 2016 and has traveled extensively for basketball and community service opportunities in Central America Asia and Europe. His family has a strong tradition in education. His mother is a Spanish professor at Whitworth University and his father works in Athletics at Gonzaga. His twin brother, Ilan, joined Isaiah as co-valedictorians.
