Quote from Coach Van Diest: "We moved John from defensive line to offensive line last year. He needs to continue to work on his foot quickness, his strength is coming. He has also put on a little bit of weight. Hopefully he can be a guy that will compete for playing time in the future."

High School: John was a Mid-Columbia All-Conference at defensive end in 2013 at Richland High School... played both sides of ball... registered 67 tackles along with five sacks... placed at state in the shot put in 2013 and 2014.

Personal: Parents are Scott and Kristie Boynton of Richland, Wash. John is majoring in Chemistry and is minoring in Biology.
