Prior to Carroll - Freeman was a two-year varsity letter winner at Mountain View HS. He was a member of the 2023 State track team. Off the field, Freeman was a two-time SIC all-academic selection. Garrett is the son of Loreesa and J.R. Freeman, and has one brother (Trey). He plans to pursue the Pre-Dentistry pathway.

Freeman on why he chose Carroll: "I chose Carroll because of the opportunity it gives me to succeed on the field and in the classroom."
