Arntson joins the Carroll staff beginning in 2018 after 24 seasons at the helm of Helena High that included a record of 159-91 (.636), including a 104-36 (.742) over the last 12 years. He guided the Bengals to the Class AA state title game four times, the latest coming just last season when Helena High fell to Billings Senior.
He also coached the Bengal track team and won state titles in 2005 and 2015, took second in 1999, 2004 and 2014 and finished third in 2016 and 2017.
He replaces Jim Hogan who stepped down after 19 seasons as the O-line coach.Â
Arntson will again have the opportunity to coach his two sons, Troy, a senior receiver, and Ryan, a sophomore running back, are both key contributors to the Carroll offense.Â
