The 2024 season will be Rick Wells' 43rd season as a football coach, and his second stint with the Fighting Saints. Wells is a defensive consultant in addition to working with the Carroll College Linebackers.
Wells, a native of Tillamook, Ore. graduated from the University of Wyoming in 1972, and began his coaching journey.
Of his 41 years coaching, 27 have been spent in the Frontier Conference (Western Montana College, Carroll College x2, MSU-Northern x2). Outside of the Frontier he has stops at the prep level (Natrona County HS - Casper, Wyo., CMR HS - Great Falls, Mont., Riverton HS - Riverton, Wyo., Dimond HS, Anchorage, AK.).
During his initial tenure at Carroll College (1984-1999), Wells coached the current Carroll head-man, Troy Purcell.
Wells has been married to his wife, Mary Jo, for 38 years. Together, they have a son, Ted, and daughter, Hanna, as well as five grandchildren.
