Coutinho was a four-year varsity player at wide receiver and linebacker for Loyola. He was a letter winner in basketball, track and tennis. Off the field, Coutinho was an academic all-state selection. He is the son of Cynthia and Newton Coutinho. He has two sisters (Kirby and Skylar). He plans on pursuing a degree in biology.
