Quote from Coach Van Diest: "Alec was injured last year and did not play at all but came back as an outstanding football player. Had an outstanding inter and and great summer and came back and put on 15 pounds. Alec will be at the defensive line and right now has an outstanding chance to be at the starting position."

2015: Out injured.

2014: Moved from Outside Linebacker to Defensive End... appeared in three games on the defensive line... recorded four tackles including a season-high two against Eastern Oregon... named Academic All-Conference.

2013: Moved from Safety to Outside Linebacker... contributed on scout team.

2012: Redshirted and contributed on scout team.

High School: Alec was a National Honor Society Member and was elected student body president in 2011... two-time First-Team All-Conference linebacker, one time Second-Team All-State Linebacker and two year football team captain... lettered in football and track four years and basketball two years... four -year Scholar-Athlete in all three sports at Gooding High School... participated in Business Professionals of America, FFA Soils, Youth Group and Eagle Scout.

Personal: Parents are Debra Basterrechea of Gooding, Idaho. Alec is majoring in Health Sciences and Spanish.
