Prior to Carroll - Coey was a team captain, two-year varsity letter winner, an all-conference DB and safety of the year at Coeur d'Alene. He was a two-time conference champion, a state finalist as a junior, and state semi-finalist as a senior. He was a three-year varsity letter winner and all-conference selection in baseball. Off the field, Coey was a member of the honor roll. Kolbe is the son of Katie and Troy Coey and has one sister (Leila) and one brother (Zac). He plans to pursue a degree in Business.
