Biography

In 2024, Zach appeared in one game… and made one total tackle.

McMurtrey was a three-year varsity letter winner and three-time All-League linebacker at Central Valley HS. He was a team captain, Central Valley team defensive MVP, and first team all-league linebacker in 2022. McMurtrey is a three-year varsity letter winner in Track and Field. Off the field, McMurtrey was a four-year member of the High Honor Roll and the Burkland-Butner Scholarship award winner. He is the son of Chris and Megan McMurtrey and has one brother (Nate). He plans to pursue a degree in Education.

McMurtrey on why he chose Carroll College: "I chose Carroll College because there is no better place for me to develop as a student, football player, and as a man. As soon as I stepped on campus I knew Carroll was home for me."
