Quote from Coach Van Diest: "Joel is a real success story. He walked on two years ago as a 225 offensive lineman and worked his way up to 280 pounds. He took over the starting spot vacated by Andrew Blum and never gave it up. Joel should be our starting center this fall."

Personal: Parents are Bruce and Kay Kramer of Missoula, Mont. Joel is majoring in Chemistry.
