HELENA, Mont. - The (RV) Carroll Men's Soccer team will return to the pitch this afternoon, as they host Providence in an early season non-conference battle at 3 p.m. on Valley Bank Field at Nelson Stadium.

Both the Fighting Saints (0-0-1) and Argos (0-1) enter the match with one official game under their belts, and it just happens to be a common opponent. Carroll opened their 2026 campaign last Thursday with a 3-3 draw against Dordt (Iowa), and the Defenders then turned around and topped Providence 2-1 in Great Falls two days later.

The 3-3 season-opening draw saw a mix of great moments and not so great moments, and the Saints are eager to correct the miscues this afternoon. Carroll went down almost immediately in the opener, allowing a goal off the first touch. They did manage to respond quickly, scoring their first goal of the season just 42 seconds into the year, but Head Coach Austin Shick and his squad are looking for a better start on Friday.

Carroll's pair of Pedro's scored in the season-opener, and look to keep their hot starts rolling. Pedro Teixeira (Braga, Portugal / R-SR) scored the team's first goal of the year, while Pedro Rivera (Mexico City, Mexico / SO) buried a second-half rebound - the second goal of his career.

2024 CCC Offensive Player of the Year Felix Billard (Mallorco, Spain / SR) also scored in the opener. Billard continues his ascent towards the top of the Carroll record books, as his first of the year and 27th career goal moved him within six goals of the program's all-time record.

Friday's game will be a non-conference bout, and the first of two meetings between the teams this fall. Carroll will host the Argos again on Saturday, October 17, a game that will count towards CCC standings.
