HELENA, Mont. - The Carroll College Softball team is back in action, making their longest conference road trip of the season to Nebraska for a four-game series at Bellevue. Thursday afternoon's twin bill is scheduled for 3 p.m. and 5 p.m., with two more on Friday at 1 p.m. and 3 p.m.

Coming off a split in their first home series of the season, the Fighting Saints (8-10, 3-5) will look to continue their climb up the Frontier Conference standings, taking on the middle of the pack Bruins (16-15, 6-4) in their first trip to Nebraska.

With heavy rainfall covering the greater Omaha area, both Thursday and Friday's doubleheaders have been moved back in hopes of improved conditions. All four games of the series have been slid back two hours, however, field conditions should remain relatively normal on the artificial turf at the newly-opened Renner Dennis Outdoor Athletic Complex.

Last weekend's home-opening series against Dickinson State was a mixed-bag for the Saints. At times, the bats were hot and the pitching was on point, while in a pair of losses both were sub-par. Finding a way to remain consistent throughout the four-game series will be the priority for the Fighting Saints on the road this weekend.

The Saints had a flair for the dramatic in a pair of wins last weekend, as Ella Seaman (Belgrade, Mont. / SO) notched her second career walk-off winner in the series opener, and Brooke Thompson (Billings, Mont. / JR) went 4-4 to help lead a come-from-behind win in the finale over the Blue Hawks.

Thompson has been outstanding for the Saints through the first half of the season, leading Carroll in nearly every offensive category. The transfer do-it-all player is batting .448 with an OPS of 1.245, with team-highs in hits (26), home runs (4), and RBI (17).
