Carroll Volleyball Back at Home for Weekend Pair

10/23/26 | 9:52 AM

HELENA, Mont. - The Carroll College Volleyball team is back on home court following a lengthy road swing, looking to clinch their spot in the upcoming Frontier Championship as they host Valley City State and Mayville State on Friday and Saturday at the PE Center.

As November draws near, the postseason picture is becoming more and more clear each week in the Frontier Conference. The Fighting Saints (14-9, 9-7) have an opportunity to lock in their spot and play as the host school for the upcoming Frontier Championship with wins over the Vikings (8-15, 6-10) and Comets (2-19, 2-14).

After a strong start to league play, the Saints have run into a few bumps in the road as of late. Carroll enters the week on a three-game skid, looking to stop the slide and build momentum heading into the postseason.

With just three weeks remaining in the 2026 regular season, Carroll has the benefit of playing four of their remaining six matches on home court, beginning with this weekend's pair against VCSU and MSU.

The Saints currently sit in sixth place, but have four matches against teams below them in the standings over the next three weeks. Finding a way to win at a high-clip over the final stretch of the season could see Carroll vault up into favorable seeding for the Frontier Championship on November 12-14.

Led by Lauren and Birdie Heuiser (Helena, Mont.), the Carroll attack has been much improved in 2026. The Heuiser sisters enter the weekend No. 1 and No. 2 in the Frontier in total points, and No. 1 and No. 3 in the league in total Kills.

Carroll has seen their share of success against this weekend's opponents, coming in with a 3-1 all-time record against VCSU, and a 2-1 record against Mayville State. The Saints won the first meeting against both schools earlier this season, and will look for the season sweep this weekend in Helena.

Saturday's match against Mayville State will be broadcast on SWX affiliates throughout Eastern Washington, Northern Idaho, and Montana.
