HELENA, Mont. - As the first lap of the 2025-26 Frontier Conference slate nears its end, the Carroll Basketball teams will host conference newcomers Mayville State on Friday, and Valley City State on Saturday. Both doubleheaders will see the Women tip at 5 p.m. and the Men following at 7 p.m.

Both the Carroll Men (10-4, 8-1) and Women (9-6, 7-2) find themselves in ideal positions as we near the midway point of the Frontier season. The Men enter the weekend off their lone conference loss in their last outing, a 77-81 defeat to Bellevue, but remain atop the league standings following their best start to league play in program history. The Women are second in the conference standings, coming off a pair of wins last weekend in Helena to keep pace with the league leaders.

Last Friday, both the Men's and Women's games against Dakota State provided Saints fans with two of the most thrilling victories the PE Center has ever seen. Both games of the doubleheader featured game-winning shots coming with less than a second remaining on the clock. Willa Albrecht (Billings, Mont. / R-SR) netted the game-winner with .4 on the board to propel the Saints to a 65-63 win over the fourth-ranked Trojans, while Kellen Harrison (Bozeman, Mont. / SO) beat the buzzer in the Men's game to cap one of the most unlikely pair of games you'll ever see.

Albrecht's game-winner was just part of a memorable weekend, as she also became the program's 25th-member of the 1,000-point club. Her big weekend continued into Monday, when she was named Frontier Conference Offensive Player of the Week, her third honor of the season.

Friday night's game against the Comets will be the debut of a new city-inspired alternate uniform, to be worn by both teams. Carroll Athletics worked with local artist David Goodson to create a unique design paying homage to Helena. Featuring the iconic firetower up one side, the twin spires of the Cathedral of St. Helena on the shorts, and a script "Helena" across the chest, the uniforms are also gold - a nod to Last Chance Gulch and the gold rush that started the town.
