HELENA, Mont. - The (RV) Carroll Women's Basketball team pushed their win streak to seven, staying unbeaten in 2026 with a 61-52 win over No. 18 Rocky Mountain College at the PE Center on Friday evening.
The Fighting Saints (14-6, 12-2) took a minute to get going, but once a few shots fell, there was no slowing down, as they led for nearly 36 minutes over the Battlin' Bears to help split the season series.
Rocky opened the game on a 7-2 run, but the Carroll defense settled in and helped turn the tide early. The Saints closed the first quarter on a 14-2 run, spurred by great defense that translated to five Rocky turnovers and just 1-9 shooting from the Bears.
Carroll really broke things open in the second quarter, with six different Saints scoring in the frame.
Meagan Karstetter (Moses Lake, Wash. / SR) and
Gracie Millimen (Manhattan, Mont. / R-FR) were impressive in the paint, combining for nine points in the frame, while Karstetter pulled down five boards. The Carroll lead would grow to as large as 17, and the Saints carried a 16-point lead at the break, 35-19.
Rocky's Page Wasson brought life to the Bears in the third quarter, scoring nine points after being held to just three in the first half, but
Jillian Kanduch (Miles City, Mont. / FR) scored eight points of her own, including a pair of threes to help Carroll keep a 14-point lead heading into the fourth.
The Bears made a dent in the large Carroll advantage over the final ten minutes, but the Saints were able to withstand the late run, holding on for the 61-52 win to maintain their position at the top of the Fontier Conference standings.
Kenzie Allen (Grantsville, Utah / JR) continued her strong play as of late, finishing with 11 points, five assists, and five steals.
Meagan Karstetter sniffed a double-double, ending her night matching Allen with a team-high 11 points, while adding a career-best nine rebounds.
Kanduch scored 10 points to round out the double-figure scorers, while
Willa Albrecht (Billings, Mont. / R-SR) eight points, three steals, and three rebounds.
The Saints will enjoy a weekend of rest before beginning preparations for a rivalry weekend in Helena next week, hosting Montana Tech on Friday and Montana Western on Saturday at 5 p.m.
