Carroll Women Wrap Up Non-Conference Slate with Draw at Whitman

WALLA WALLA, Wash. — The Carroll Women's Soccer team finished off its 2025 road slate on Sunday morning, playing to a 1–1 draw with Whitman College at James Hayner Field.

Carroll (2-0-2) got off to a lightning-fast start when sophomore forward Brynn Johnson (Hayden Lake, Idaho / JR) struck just 32 seconds into the match for her first goal of the season.

The early lead energized the Saints, who out-shot Whitman 7-5 in the first half, generating several chances. But as the clock wound into the later stages of the period, Whitman knotted the score via Gracia Larson, who converted a feed from Emoree Lash in the 35th minute to level the match going into halftime.

In the second half both defenses stiffened. Carroll continued to press, tallying 16 total shots (8 on goal) to Whitman's 13 (5 on goal). Keeper Maria Ackerman (Billings, Mont. / JR) made 4 saves for Carroll, while Whitman's goalkeepers combined for 7 saves.

Neither side could find the game-winner, and the Saints settled for a draw to wrap up the non-conference portion of their schedule.

Up next, the Saints will begin their 2025 Cascade Collegiate Conference season, opening up with a road contest in Billings against Rocky Mountain College.
