HELENA, Mont. - Both the Frontier Con
ference and Cascade Collegiate Conference (CCC) released their weekly individual athlete honors on Monday afternoon. A pair of Carroll standouts,
Lauren Heuiser and
Juan Muniz Navarrete, were recognized for their outstanding performances in competition from August 18-24, 2025.
FRONTIER CONFERENCE VB ATTACKER OF THE WEEK
Lauren Heuiser - Helena, Mont. | 6-0 | JR | MH
The (RV) Fighting Saints had a big weekend in Butte, going undefeated in their first four matches of the season at the Big Sky Challenge.
Lauren Heuiser was one big reason why.
Heuiser, a junior middle hitter from Helena was chosen as the Attacker of the Week after leading the Saints in kills (47 kills), kills per set (3.6 kills per set), and hitting percentage (.327).
Heuiser posted 15-plus kills in a pair of three-set sweeps over Campbellsville (Ky.) and Evergreen State (Wash.), and was a key factor in wins over No. 21 Nelson (Tx.) and (RV) OUAZ as well.
Not just an offensive threat, the middle Heuiser sister was also dominant on the defensive end, leading the Saints with 17 total blocks in the four victories.
This is her first career Erck Hotels / Frontier Conference Player of the Week award, and her selection marks the third-straight season in which a Carroll athlete has earned Player of the Week honors in the team's first week of competition (
Julia Carr - DPOWÂ '23 & '24).
CASCADE COLLEGIATE CONFERENCEÂ MSOC DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Juan Muniz Navarrete - Hermiston, Ore. | 6-0 | GR | GK
The Carroll Men's Soccer team began the 2025 season in the receiving votes portion of the NAIA Coaches' Poll for the first time in program history. The 2024 CCC Champions return a large contingent of All-Conference talent, and the first All-American in program history, Muniz Navarrete.
Muniz Navarrete made the decision to play one final season for the Purple and Gold, and made his impact felt immediately in the first week of competition. The graduate student goalkeeper from Hermiston, Ore., led the Fighting Saints to a 1-0 shutout over Northwestern Ohio on Friday to open the season, and posted a second clean sheet in a 0-0 draw against Aquinas (Mich.) on Sunday. He recorded four saves over the course of the two complete games, and added to his program-record for shutouts.
