PHOENIX, Ariz. - The Carroll College Golf teams remained in position following second round play of the Frontier Conference Golf Championships at the Papago Golf Club on Tuesday morning.

The Fighting Saints couldn't find a way to advance up the leaderboard after two days of competition, but saw some impressive individual performances to remain in fourth place on the Men's side of the action and third on the Women's front.

Playing without Celi Chapman for the second-straight day, the Carroll Women saw their scores slide back a touch from the opening round. Ellie Stastny (Murtaugh, Idaho / FR), who carded an 88 on day one, led the charge in the second round with a team-best 85 (+13). Both Stella Claridge (Kalispell, Mont. / JR) and Alli Stastny (Murtaugh, Idaho / FR) posted second round scores of 87 (+15). Claridge sits tied for ninth in the individual competition, while Alli Stastny is tied for 11th, and Ellie tied for 14th, all within five strokes of each other. Lauren Mayala (Billings, Mont. / FR) rounded out the four scores with a second round 101.

The Men saw an excellent day two performance from Kyle Kennah (Laurel, Mont. / FR), who posted the low round of the tournament for the Saints with a one-over round of 73 on day two. Kennah was consistent throughout the day, with just three bogeys and a pair of birdies. Jackson Hammond fired a second round 77 (+5), boucning back from a rough back nine on Monday. Tanner Cromwell's (Anaconda, Mont. / FR) second round 80 (+8) featured back to back birdies on holes one and two, while TJ Fierling (North Bend, Wash. / SO) rounded out the scoring with a second round 83 (+11).

Final round play from the desert will commence with an  8:30 a.m. shotgun tomorrow morning, as the Saints look to make one final push up the leaderboards.
