09/21/26 | 9:32 PM

DETROIT LAKES, Minn. - The Carroll College Golf teams opened up their 2026-27 wrap-around campaign on Monday, with the Women Sitting third and Men in sixth following opening round play at the Comet Invitational at Wildflower Golf Course at Fair Hills Resort.

With little turnover from their 2025-26 rosters, the Fighting Saints find themselves in a similar position to where they finished in the Frontier Conference Championship following their first competitive rounds of the new season.

The Carroll Women are in third place after day one with a team total of 336 (+48), leading Dickinson State by two strokes, while the Men sit in sixth at 632 (+56), trailing host school Mayville State by five shots.

Alli Stastny (Murtaugh, Idaho / JR), an All-Conference performer from last season, paced the Carroll Women in the first round. Stastny fired an opening round 78 (+6), which featured birdies on holes No. 1 and 14 to sit in a tie for fourth in the individual competition. Her twin sister Ellie Stastny (Murtaugh, Idaho / JR) is not far off, posting an 82 that has her in Top-10 territory entering the final round. Billings Central-product Jordan Nielsen (Billings, Mont. / FR) sits at 13th following her first collegiate round of 84, while Addison Slivinski (Montpelier, Idaho / SO) rounded-out the Carroll scorers with a 92 that has her in 25th.

TJ Fierling (North Bend, Wash. / SR) was the low man of the day for the Carroll Men. Fierling sits at T-19 after carding an opening round 73 that featured four birdies, followed by an afternoon round of 83. Hudson Reinke (Filer, Idaho / JR) and Kyle Kennah (Laurel, Mont. / JR) occupy the spots right behind him at No. 22 and 23 in the individual competition. Reinke opened with a 79, then posted Carroll's low round of the afternoon at 78, while Kennah went 79-80 on the first day of action. JT Slivinski (Montpelier, Idaho / SR) rounded-out the Carroll scoring, shooting 85 in the opening round before responding with a 79 in round two.

Final round play from Wildflower Golf Course will begin at 8 a.m. (MDT) tomorrow morning, as both the Men and Women look to climb the leaderboards in the first official Frontier event of the year.
