HELENA, Mont. - The Carroll College Basketball teams will return to action on their home court this evening, playing host to MSU-Northern in a doubleheader with the Women tipping at 5 p.m., and the Men following at 7 p.m.

Tonight marks the end of the second lap through the Frontier Conference slate, with both the No. 20-ranked Women (15-7, 7-2) and Men (9-13, 4-5) liking the direction of their teams as the season winds down.

The Carroll Women picked up a pair of wins over teams receiving votes in the NAIA WBB Coaches' Poll last week, blowing out Montana Tech 76-56 in Helena on Thursday, before completing a thrilling comeback to beat Rocky 70-65 in overtime on Saturday.

Meagan Karstetter's (Moses Lake, Wash. / JR) last second heroics gave the Saints an extra five minutes to get the job done, and the overtime victory moved Carroll into sole possession of first place in the conference standings and a tiebreaker over No. 2 Rocky should it come down to that.

Karstetter's buzzer-beater was exciting, but Willa Albrecht (Billings, Mont. / R-JR) did the heavy lifting offensively for the Saints all week. The Preseason All-Conference selection was electric all week, averaging 27.0 points per game en route to her fourth Frontier Conference Player of the Week honor of the season.

Carroll won a slugfest of a first meeting between the Saints and Skylights in Havre last month. A poor shooting night saw Carroll post it's second lowest three-point % in the last five years (11 percent), but a staunch defensive effort helped propel them to a 49-37 win at the Armory. The Saints have won 17-straight in the series, and will look to add on tonight in Helena.

The Carroll Men enter the game coming off of their second 16-plus point win over Rocky on the year. The Saints dominated the Bears in Billings, cruising to a 95-77 win on Saturday.

Isaiah Moore (Fairfield, Calif. / JR) had his best game, and week, of the season. The bouncy junior led the Saints in scoring for the first time this season on Saturday, dropping 26 points in the lopsided victory.

An up-and-down start to the season has leveled out a bit for the young Carroll team, and the Saints enter the week at 4-5 in conference play, tied for third in the standings. Trailing Providence by two games in conference play, a strong push in the final month of the season could theoretically bump the Saints into the second spot in the standings, giving them an opportunity at a first round bye in the upcoming Frontier Championship.

Carroll rolled to victory in the first meeting between the schools last month in Havre, as four different Saints scored 12 points or more in an 80-58 win.
