Game Recap: Women's Basketball |

No. 16 Saints Drop Physical Bout to No. 21 Oregon Tech

HELENA, Mont. - The Carroll College Women's Basketball team fell in their second game of the 2025 Thanksgiving Classic to No. 21 Oregon Tech, 73-63 on Saturday evening at the CC PE Center.

The Fighting Saints (4-3, 2-1), along with the other three participants in the all-ranked weekend event, couldn't manage to escape the weekend unscathed - falling by 10 to the Owls (4-4).

Carroll came out of the gates a little sluggish in the opening stanza, as second chance opportunities paired with an uptempo offense saw Oregon Tech jump out to a 16-9 lead after one.

OIT heavily out-rebounded the Saints in the second quarter (10-3), and continued to capitalize on their second chances. While Carroll's offense found their footing, the Owls continued to keep up the pressure, shooting nearly 60 percent from the floor to extend their lead to 12 at the halftime break.

Kenzie Allen (Grantsville, Utah / JR) and Willa Albrecht (Billings, Mont. / R-SR) got things rolling coming out of the break, as the pair combined for 13 third quater points. However, Oregon Tech's Jozie Ramos had an answer for seemingly every Carroll advance. The post scored eight of her game-high 23 points, and pulled down six of her game-high 11 rebounds in the frame to once again extend the lead, with Carroll trailling by 13 heading into the fourth.

Avery Kraft (Helena, Mont. / R-FR) provided a spark in the final quarter, coming off the bench and scoring eight points, but the Saints simply couldn't come up with enough stops down the stretch as OIT walked away with the 10-point win.

Albrecht (18 points) and Allen (13 points) were the lone Saints to record double-digit scoring figures, while four different Owls recorded 10 or more points.

The Saints will now turn their attention towards another weekend of Frontier road tests, as they take on Montana Western and Montana Tech next Friday and Saturday.
