HELENA, Mont. - The Carroll College Basketball teams begin week five of Frontier Conference play with a Thursday night doubleheader against Montana Tech, with the Women tipping at 5 p.m. and the Men following at 7 p.m..

Both the Carroll Men (8-12, 3-4) and Women (13-7, 5-2) will look to bounce back from a pair of tough Saturday losses at Providence, aiming to build momentum through the back-half of league play against the Orediggers tonight in the PE Center.

At the mid-way point of the Frontier slate, the Carroll Women find themselves in familiar territory. The Saints are tied at the top of the league with a 5-2 record in conference play, right in the hunt for their third-consecutive Frontier Conference Championship.

Earlier this week, the NAIA released the latest edition of the Women's Basketball Coaches' Poll, with Carroll bumping up two spots to No. 20 in the nation. The Saints are the highest rated team in the conference, with Providence checking in at No. 25 and a pair of teams in the receiving votes category, including tonight's opponent, Montana Tech.

The Orediggers won the first meeting of the season between the two teams in Butte earlier this month, snapping a 23-game win streak for the Fighting Saints in the series dating back to 2017. Carroll holds a 51-11 advantage in the series dating back to the 2003-04 season, and will look to begin a new streak tonight in front of their home crowd.

On the Men's side of the action, the Saints battled back from an 0-3 start in Frontier play to even their record at 3-3 with wins over then-ranked No. 19 Rocky, MSU-Northern, and Montana Western before turnovers and empty possessions spoiled their win streak at Providence last weekend.

Montana Tech enters the night at No. 9 in the NAIA, and has one eight of the last ten meetings between the two schools, including a seven-point win earlier this month in Butte. Due to the nature of the Frontier's unbalanced schedule, most of the recent years' contests have been played in Butte, but Carroll's two wins in the last ten have come at home in the PE Center.

Isaiah Crane (Portland, Ore. / R-FR) continues to lead the conference in scoring, averaging 17.6 points per game in a breakout season. The Saints as a whole have been a good offensive team on the season, averaging 81 points per game, and will look to beat the NAIA's No. 2 scoring defense with Tech holding opponents to just 60.5 average points per game.

Thursday night is the annual Whiteout game, and Carroll supporters are encouraged to wear white at both games.
