AUSTIN, Texas – College Sports Communicators (CSC) announced Tuesday the 2024 Academic All-America® Football teams for NCAA Division I-II-III and NAIA. Carroll College standout Hunter Peck has been named a First Team NAIA Academic All-American.

Academic All-American is a title reserved for college student-athletes who perform at an elite level in their chosen sport and in the classroom. The all-time list of 40,000+ Academic All-Americans includes major sports stars and some of the world's most accomplished individuals in medicine, business, science and the arts. Established in 1952 and selected by College Sports Communicators (CSC), Academic All-America is the longest running and premier award for athletic and academic success across championship college sports at all NCAA levels, the NAIA, two-year colleges and Canadian institutions.

Carroll Football has seen a long-line of impressive individual seasons, and Hunter Peck (Windsor, Colo. / SR) will go down as one of the greats. Peck, a six-foot, two-inch defensive lineman was in a class of his own in 2024.

On the field, Peck had a career year, finishing with with 50 tackles (22 solo, 28 assisted), in addition to 6.5 sacks, 12 tackles for loss, and a fumble recovery. He was named First Team All-Conference, and garnered the 2024 Frontier Conference Defensive Player of the Year honor. Beyond the Frontier honors, Peck was named an All-American by numerous outlets including AFCA NAIA First Team All-American, Victory Sports Network (VSN) First Team All-American, College Football Network First Team All-American, and AP Second Team All-American.

A leader in the classroom as well, Peck is among the highest GPA's on the Carroll Football team. He's a multi-time Frontier Conference Academic All-Conference selection and NAIA Daktronics Scholar-Athlete who will graduate this spring with a degree in Biology, currently carrying a 3.72 GPA.

Peck was named a finalist for the 2024 Cliff Harris Award, recognizing the best Small College defensive player in the nation, as well as one of five NAIA semifinalists for the 2024 William V. Campbell Trophy, also known as the "Academic Heisman".

With a recent ruling issued by the NCAA, Peck's football career is not yet over. Although he has exhausted his NAIA eligibility, Peck falls under a new waiver by the NCAA that will allow him to compete for one additional year. He announced that he has committed to the University of Montana, and upon graduating from Carroll later this spring, will join the Grizzlies for the Fall of 2025.
