HELENA, Mont. - The Carroll College Golf teams have hit the links for the second straight week, competing at the Beartooth Invitational, hosted by Rocky Mountain College at the Laurel Country Club on Monday and Tuesday.
The Fighting Saints finished in third place as a team on both the Men's and Women's side of the action last week at the season-opening Argo Sizzler.
The young groups on both sides will look to improve upon a good foundation set last weekend in Shelby.
Stella Claridge (Kalispell, Mont. / JR) will be the most senior player on the Women's team this week in Laurel. Last week at Marias Valley, she notched a top-15 individual finish (+23). Joining her in the Carroll five are four newcomers to the Carroll Roster.
Four true freshman,
Lindsay Cook (Bozeman, Mont. / FR),
Alli Stastny (Murtaugh, Idaho / FR),
Ellie Stastny (Murtaugh, Idaho / FR) and
Lauren Mayala (Billings, Mont. / FR) will get the start at the Beartooth, looking to make their marks.
Ellie Stastny had a great first career start last week, shooting a final round 79 to earn top-10 honors at the Argo Sizzler.
The Carroll Men have a little more experience on the course this week, as
JT Slivinski (Montpelier, Idaho / SO),
TJ Fierling (North Bend, Wash. / SO) and
Jackson Hammond (Scottsdale, Ariz. / SO) all have a full season under their belts. Joining them are
Tanner Cromwell (Anaconda, Mont. / FR),
Hudson Reinke (Filer, Idaho / FR), as well as
Kyle Kennah (Laurel, Mont. / FR) who gets the start in his home town.
Both teams will play 36 holes on Monday, wrapping up with an 18-hole final round on Tuesday.
