GLENDALE, Ariz. - The Carroll College Football team wil look to move to 2-0 in Frontier Conference play this evening when they take on Arizona Christian at 8 p.m. at the ACU Football Field in Glendale.

The Fighting Saints (2-1, 1-0) will look to pick up a win in their first trip to the desert against new Frontier-member Arizona Christian (1-1, 1-0).

Coming in off of a 52-0 drubbing of Simpson (Calif.), the Saints aim to keep things rolling tonight in Arizona. Last week's big win was the first time since the 2019 season that the Saints have scored 50 points (MSU-N 54-26, RMC - 51-17), and the first time since 2005 that they earned a 50-plus point shutout (USF 55-0).

The Carroll offense found their rhythm last Saturday, scoring points on each of their first eight drives against the Red Hawks. Both the pass game and run game were rolling, as the Saints scored three touchdowns on the ground, and four through the air. The four passing touchdowns were the first of the season, and Carroll aims to keep that momentum rolling into this week's matchup in Arizona.

The offense has been near 50/50 through three games, with 656 rushing yards and 654 passing yards. Lincoln Holmes (St. George, Utah / R-FR) had a breakout performance in last week's win, going for five catches for 105 yards and a touchdown, while Peter Minnaert (Boise, Idaho / FR) found the first two rushing touchdowns of his young career in the first half as well.

Defensively, the Saints have now held two-consecutive opponents to fewer than 200 yards of total offense (RMC 196, SU 192), while allowing just 13 points. Carroll has the No. 15 scoring defense (14.3 ppg), and the No. 9 total defense (229.3 ypg) in the NAIA.

Arizona Christian enters the week at 1-1, including a win over MSU-Northern last week in Havre, as well as a loss to NCAA Division II opponent Fort Lewis, who had previously lost 40-consecutive games. The Firestorm are a run-heavy offense, working out of the Wing-T and AJ Sibley leads the team in rushing with 163 yards on the year.

Temperatures are forecast to reach 111* today in the valley, and tonight's 7 p.m. local-time kickoff could very well go down as the hottest game on record in program history.

Kick off is slated for 8 p.m. (MDT), and a live stream is available HERE.
