HELENA, Mont. - The Carroll Volleyball team will host MSU-Northern tonight for the first meeting between the two programs this season at the Carroll College PE Center at 7 p.m. in Helena.
The Fighting Saints (11-3, 1-2) will look to rebound from a tough four set loss against Montana Tech, and will have a great opportunity against the Skylights (6-6, 1-2).
The two teams have seen different paths to the same conference record. Carroll has gone back-and-forth in Frontier play, dropping the opener to No. 15 Providence, and sweeping No. 13 Montana Western before falling to the Orediggers on Saturday. Northern dropped their first two conference games of the season to Western and Tech, but picked up a 3-1 victory over Rocky Mountain College on Saturday.
Northern won all three contests between the two schools last season, but Carroll has dominated the series dating back to 2014. Since the 2014 season, the Saints hold a 19-8 advantage, winning 14-straight between 2014 and 2021.
The Saints are the top team in the Frontier in digs, boasting 1124 total digs, 133 more than the Skylights. Northern holds a slight advantage at the net, however, with eight more blocks than the Saints (MSU-N 104, CC 96).
First serve for tonight's match is scheduled for 7 p.m., and tickets are available at the door.
