Box Score HELENA, Mont. – The Carroll Volleyball Team picked up a four-set win over MSU-Northern on Thursday night at the Carroll College PE Center.

The Fighting Saints (12-3, 2-2) were in control for most of the night, putting away the Skylights (6-7, 1-3) in four sets.

Carroll had to knock the rust off early. The Saints found themselves trailing 23-20 late in the opening frame, but they found a way to rally and score the final five points of the set to steal the 25-20 victory. Hannah Schweikert (Columbia Falls, Mont. / R-JR) tallied 17 assists in the frame, while the Hueiser sisters, Elizabeth (Helena, Mont. / R-JR) and Lauren (Helena, Mont. / SO) combined for 11 kills in the frame.

The Saints raced out to a quick 16-6 lead in the second set, and never let their opponents back into it. Carroll extinguished any attempt at a comeback, going on to win 25-12 in a dominant second. The Saints hit .216 in the frame while the Skylights went negative at -.071.

The third set was Carroll's only blemish on the night. Again, the Saints found themselves needing a late-game rally to force extra points, and again they found it. Trailing 23-18, Carroll stormed back to even the match at 24-24. Unfortunately, they were unable to complete the comeback as the Skylights would win in extras, 27-25.

Carroll was strong in winning time in all four sets, as they continued the trend in the fourth frame. With the set tied at 19, Carroll overpowered Northern to score five of the last six points, winning the match 3-1.

Schweikert finished her night with a total tally of 48 assists, a game-high. Julia Carr (Portland, Ore. / GR) was as stellar as ever, finishing with 37 digs to lead all players.

Liz Hueiser finished with team-highs 14 kills and five blocks, while Lauren Heuiser and McKaila Balcom (Pasco, Wash. / SO) each posted 13 kills in the win.

Alana Graves had an impressive night for the Skylights, leading her team with 17 kills and five blocks.

Up next, a road trip to Billings for a showdown with Rocky on Saturday night awaits the Saints.
