Helena, Mont. – Carroll College Cross Country will compete in Missoula, Mont. on Friday evening at the University of Montana Cross Country Invitational.
Yellowjackets/Battlin Bears Riverfront Open Recap
The Saints women won and the Saints men placed 2nd last week at the Yellowjackets/Battlin Bears Riverfront Open. The meet took place after a morning of uncertainty due to air quality and an eventual venue change from Butte to Billings, Mont. Freshman Hailey Watkins won the meet individually on the women's side and received Frontier Conference Runner of the Week for the second week in a row.
University of Montana Cross Country Invitational Preview
Carroll Cross Country will travel 9 men and 9 women to the Montana Invite. All Frontier Conference teams should be in attendance. The Saints men will look to bounce back after a loss to a tough Rocky Mountain team last week, and the Saints women will aim to extend their undefeated record this season against Frontier Conference competition.
On the men's side, the Saints will return Zack Gacnik and Zach Rector who sat out last week while returning from minor injuries. For the women, freshman Amelia Mayes will debut for the Saints and sophomore Jenna Castro will take to the course after sitting out last meet.
The women's 5k gun will go off at 6:15 pm and the men's 8k at 6:50 pm on Friday at the University Golf Course in Missoula.
