Grand Rapids, Mich. – The Carroll Cross Country Saints put both teams in the Top 10 at another loaded NAIA Great Lakes Challenge on Saturday October 25 in Grand Rapids, Mich.

The No. 17 men placed 9th overall, beating No. 16 Aquinas, No. 18 Cornerstone, No. 24 St. Francis, and three other teams receiving votes in the NAIA polls. The No. 20 women placed 8th, surpassing No. 12 Aquinas, No. 22 LC State, and six receiving votes squads.

Oliver Morris was the highest placer for the men in 27th with Zack Gacnik following shortly behind in 33rd. Ryah O'Dell placed 36th as the top Carroll woman, while 5 Saints women crossed the line within 9 seconds between 58th and 69th place. Two Carroll men ran personal records: Conrad Schruth and Logan Anderson

"We had a lot of little wins both individually and as teams at this meet and were excited to place higher than last year," said Head Coach Shannon Flynn. "This gives us great momentum moving into the post-season. We can see that both teams are hungry to keep growing and are trusting the process of planning to be our best in November," she added.

The Saints will race again in 2 weeks at the Frontier Conference Championships in Billings, Mont. Races will kick off at Amend Park at 10:30 am on Friday November 7.
