HELENA, Mont. - The Carroll College Volleyball team fell to the University of Providence Friday night at the PE Center.

The 15th ranked Argos (10-2, 1-0) took down the Fighting Saints (10-2, 0-1) in straight sets in Carroll's first conference game of the season.

The first set of the match was tight, with Providence coming out on top 25-20. The Argos also topped the Saints in kills for the set, 12-11.

Set two saw Providence on top again 25-17, only recording three errors in the set. 

The match concluded with Providence claiming the final set 25-16. The Argos hit .484 as a team in the set as compared to Carroll at .108.

The difference in the match proved to be Carroll's 24 errors as opposed to Providence's nine.

The Heuiser sisters led the Saints in kills, Lauren (Helena, Mont. / SO) with nine, and Elizabeth (Helena, Mont. / R-JR) with seven. 

Hannah Schweikert (Columbia Falls, Mont. / R-JR) recorded 29 assists in the Saints effort.

The Argos were led by Nina Janjic with 16 kills.

Looking forward, Carroll will host Montana Western Friday, Sept. 20, and Montana Tech Saturday, Sept. 21, during Homecoming weekend in Helena.
