HELENA, Mont. - The Carroll College Volleyball team is back in action for the third straight week, this time in the dry heat of Arizona as they prepare for four matches at the OUAZ Invitational in Surprise, Ariz.

The Fighting Saints (6-1) have already surpassed last season's win total, and have shown no signs of slowing down.

Carroll enters this week's tournament in Arizona coming off of a pair of dominant three-set sweeps and a grueling five-set classic against Lewis-Clark State last week in Idaho.

Julia Carr (Portland, Ore. / GR), already with one Frontier Conference Player of the Week honor under her belt, was named Tournament MVP following her impressive defensive performance at the Hells Canyon Grand Invitational. The 2023 NAIA leader in digs per set is again setting a torrid pace in 2024, second in the nation entering the week with 7.38 digs per set.

The Heuiser sisters have caused their share of headaches for the opposition this season. Both Elizabeth (Helena, Mont. / R-JR) and Lauren (Helena, Mont. / SO) enter the week with 68 kills, sharing the team-lead from the middle of the floor, while Lauren leads all Saints in points per set 3.48.

Carroll will take the court against four teams from Arizona this weekend. They will start their tournament against Arizona Christian on Thursday afternoon at 12:30 p.m. (STATS), and finish day one action with a night cap against Benedictine (Mesa) at 7:30 p.m. (STATS). Friday at high noon the Saints will take on RV Embry-Riddle (STATS) before ending the event against host-school Ottawa (Ariz.) at 6 p.m. (STATS).
