HELENA, Mont. – After careful consideration, Carroll Athletics has made the unfortunate decision to cancel this year's Boat Poker Run as the Horse Gulch Fire continues to impact the greater Canyon Ferry area.
 
Out of respect to homeowners and the continued firefighting efforts in the area, this year's event will not take place.
 
The annual Boat Poker Run is one of the most anticipated SAA events of the year, and the only event that directly impacts every single student-athlete in the form of continuous athletic weight room updates.
 
While the fundraiser will not be held in person this year, Carroll supporters still have the opportunity to help the Fighting Saints and the community as a whole.
 
In the coming days, supporters will be able to visit www.carrollathletics.com and make a one-time donation in lieu of the live event. Carroll Athletics will donate 50 percent of all proceeds towards the Horse Gulch Firefighting efforts, and the remaining 50 percent will benefit much needed weight room updates.
 
Supporters are also welcome to make their donation with cash or check at the Carroll College PE Center from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm each day.
