VICTORIA, Texas - The Carroll College Golf teams each had better scores in Tuesday's second round, but both remain deadlocked in eighth and fifth place, respectively, at the Frontier/Red River Conference Championship.

The Fighting Saints made improvements on each side of the competition, with the Men improving on their day one total by a stroke (337 - 685 total), and the Women shaving 11 strokes off of their opening round (353 - 717 total).

Houston - Victoria continues to lead the Men's event, sitting -6 (570 total) through two rounds, while the Rocky Women are leading the Women's event with a two day 639 total (+32).

JT Slivinski (Montpelier, Idaho / FR) again led the Saints on day two, firing a team-best eight-over-par 80 to bring his total to +13. TJ Fierling (North Bend, Wash. / FR) and Jackson Hammond (Scottsdale, Ariz. / FR) each shot 83 in round two, with Hammond sitting +23 for the tournament and Fierling just behind him at +26. Michael Wall's (Southland, Colo. / FR) 91 wrapped up the four counting scores for the Men.

A bounce-back day for the Carroll Women was led by Katie Fagg's (Missoula, Mont. / SR) seven-over round of 79. The 10-stroke swing over her day one performance vaults Fagg into the individual top-10 with one round remaining. Celi Chapman (Montana City, Mont. / FR) also improved her day one score, shooting a +11 round of 83 to bring her total to +31 for the event. Stella Claridge (Kalispell, Mont. / SO) shot 93, with Kate Williams (Portland, Ore. / FR) rounding out the Carroll four with a 98 on day two.

Final round play from the Victoria Country Club is set to begin at 8 a.m. local time on Wednesday, with both Carroll teams looking to make a final day jump over their competitors.
