Men's Track and Field | 02/08/24 | 3:26 PM
Helena, Mont. – Saints Track & Field will operate as a split squad this weekend with a small group at the Mountain States Games in Pocatello, Idaho and a larger portion at the Bobcat Performance Meet in Bozeman, Mont.
The multi-event athletes will compete for the first time this season in Pocatello with Tucker Monaco in the Heptathlon and Sorren Reese, Katelyn Christensen, and Gabby Domenici in the Pentathlon. While the competition will be an indoor multi debut for all except Reese, the Saints will be up against familiar competition with multiple Montana Tech athletes also participating.
The women's competition will be completed on Friday with events in the following order: 60m Hurdles, High Jump, Shot Put, Long Jump, and 800m. The men will compete in the 60m Dash, Long Jump, Shot Put, and High Jump on Friday. Their event will then conclude on Saturday with the 60m Hurdles, Pole Vault, and 1000m.
A men's Distance Medley Relay (DMR) will also race in Pocatello on Friday evening. Brycen Gardner, Kaiden Romney, Wyatt Ehredt, and Zack Gacnik missed qualifying for Nationals last weekend in Spokane, Wash. at the Riverfront Invitational at the Podium. The same group will return to the oval with greater experience for one more chance at the NAIA Standard in the 4000m length relay.
The Pentathlon will begin at 10:00 am Mountain Time Friday and the Heptathlon at 11:00 am at Holt Arena. The DMR will race at 6:10 pm.

Over forty Saints will compete in Bozeman Friday at the Bobcat Performance Meet. Chloe Gallagher will look to improve upon her NAIA B Standard mark from last meet that qualified her for Nationals in the Pole Vault. Josh Smalley will chase his second straight indoor qualification after competing at Nationals last year, also in the Pole Vault. Weston Means is just 2 inches shy of the qualifying mark in the High Jump, and he will look for a personal record on Friday to achieve that height.
Field events will begin at 3:00 pm Mountain Time and running events at 3:50 pm at Brick Breeden Fieldhouse at Montana State University.
