HELENA, Mont. - For the second time in as many weeks, the Carroll Men's Basketball team will host a four team tournament at the Carroll College PE Center. Starting this evening, the Saints will host Eastern Oregon, Southern Oregon, and MSU-Northern in the inaugural Delta Marriott Classic, with a pair of games played both Friday and Saturday.
The Fighting Saints (2-1) got the Dan Pearson era off to a great start last weekend in Helena. They won back to back games on Friday and Saturday, with wins over Bushnell and the team's first ranked-win since the 2022-23 season against Oregon Tech on Saturday.
They followed up the impressive weekend performance by pushing No. 6 Arizona Christian to the limit on Monday, ultimately falling in a tightly-contested overtime loss.
Two more CCC teams are on the docket this weekend in Helena for the Saints. They'll complete the tour of Oregon, playing Eastern Oregon at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, before hosting Southern Oregon at 8 p.m. on Saturday evening.
Carroll will enter the week boasting the reigning Frontier Conference Offensive and Defensive Players of the Week.
Isaiah Crane (Portland, Ore. / R-FR) burst onto the scene last weekend, leading the team in scoring at 21.5 ppg. Kramer was dominant in the paint, finishing with 12 defensive boards, a pair of steals and a block.
James Lang (Portland, Ore. / R-JR) has been the top scoring threat through three games, entering the night averaging 19.3 points per game.
Friday's opponent, Eastern Oregon, will see the return of familiar faces Malachi Afework and
Trent Rogers, who each spent two seasons at Carroll before transferring.
MSU-Northern and Southern Oregon will kick the event off on Friday, tipping at 5:30 p.m., with Carroll and EOU starting immediately after.
On Saturday, Northern and EOU will start at 6 p.m., with Carroll and SOU capping another busy weekend in Helena at 8 p.m.
All four games will be streamed live on the
Carroll Athletics YouTube channel. Live stats for Friday's game can be found
