KANSAS CITY, Mo. - The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) has announced the latest edition of its Football GoRout Coaches' Top-25 Poll. Carroll College moved up seven spots, now appearing at No. 14 in the nation.
The Fighting Saints (7-1, 6-0) made the largest jump in the nation following their second consecutive top-15 win of the season, a 21-17 win over previously-ranked No. 8 Southern Oregon.
Winners of seven-straight, the Saints are currently leading the Frontier Conference, undefeated in league play.Â
Three other Frontier teams appear on the list; No. 4 Montana Western, No. 10 Montana Tech, and No. 16 Southern Oregon.
Carroll will play both Montana Western and Montana Tech on the road in the next two weeks.Â
The Saints will have a chance to claim the program's 46th Frontier Conference Championship this weekend when they square off with No. 4 Montana Western in Dillon.
This is the 211th week that the Fighting Saints have appeared in the NAIA National Poll, dating back to the 1997 season.
Rating Methodology:
- The rating is rated by a panel of head coaches representing each of the conferences. Each conference is given one rater for every four schools in the league or division.
- The Top 25 is determined by a points system based on how each rater rates the best teams. A team receives 25 points for each first-place vote, 24 for second-place, 23 for third-place and so on through the list.
- The highest and lowest ratings for each team (a non-rating is considered a low rating) are removed. The team's rating will be recalculated with an additional point added to each team for every ballot (including discounted ballots) that the team appears on.
- Teams that receive only one point in the ballot are not considered "receiving votes."
